Does the tie work with this jacket?

I really like wearing ties but I haven't been able to find blazers or sport coats that I like yet. I have a shawl-collae cardigan that I wear sometimes but I was wondering if this denim chore coat worked.

This works. If I'm being really really nit picking I think this works best if you can really nail a nice neat knot.
