Dark Souls 2 Scholar of the First Sin not working in game mode

Hi all, I installed Dark Souls 2 on my ROG Ally with the latest updates I can think of for Bazzite, and for the life of me I can't get it to load in gamemode. I get a white screen then a black screen. It works fine in the desktop mode of Steam but it's an issue sadly with the gamemode.

Just wondering if anyone else here has experienced this?

Found out the fix, had to put the game in windowed mode in desktop mode, close the game and then go back to gamemode.
