Immich IOS app causing phone to overheat
I setup immich recently on my unraid server and then tried to upload my iPhone (14PM) library via the immich app. There was a total of about 20300 assets to upload, after around 208 assets uploaded, it got stuck on an item that seemed to get the failed to hash error message. I tried to restart the docker container and restarted the app but it’s not getting past that app.
If I leave it like that, all it does is cause the phone to overheat and burnt 20% of my battery in maybe 15 min

How are you connecting , what is the immich url?
Thermal and battery management is an OS function, not in immich control
I’m just connecting via the lan IP and port locally
No other app has overheated my phone in the 2 years of usage. The OS never overheats otherwise. Definitely an app issue not OS
I think the app actually overheated the phone so much the OS had to underclock the chip to keep the immich app from wrecking my hardware permanently. I immediately noticed everything in the OS started slowing down as soon as the heat issue began.
It doesn’t even go away when I force close the app. Only after I uninstall it
Thermal management may be an OS function but Immich is the cause of the bad thermals
Are all the assets you have on iCloud?
Yes
I guess the combination of downloading the aseets from icloud, hashing the file and uploading to Immich is CPU intensive
So I reinstalled the app and restarted sync it moved past the stuck file, which turned out to be just a regular image. But then it got to a 16gb video and I noticed the heat issue again. Had to uninstall it again to stop it completely, definitely not worth risking my hardware.
