USB Install

So after 4 tries, I finally managed a download that matched the checksum, and I used the fedora media writer to flash it to a drive. After it completed, I thought I would refresh the drive but Win11 says it isn't recognized and I need to format it... is it normal, for it to not show allocated space and such? Properties says 0 bytes... Should I go on faith that it's fine?

If you doing a dual-boot you need to shrink your Windows partition to make space on the drive for Bazzite. It can't use the empty space on your C drive. I'd recommend having a look at the docs for the installation https://docs.bazzite.gg/General/Installation_Guide/ or one of the many youtube videos to guide you through the installation process
Installation Guide - Bazzite Documentation
Bazzite is a custom image built upon Fedora Atomic Desktops that brings the best of Linux gaming to all of your devices.

Are you seeing this immediately after writing the image?

you can largely disregard how Windows views Linux drives boot from the drive, then look for potential errors

That's why I asked, I'm used to windows, if it says it's done then no worries until there are worries, but this is a new animal I'd rather do things right the first time
