Games not launching on oled deck
Installed heroic through the default App Store on steam deck desktop. When downloading and launching games a window appears and then immediately crashes.
Tried a few different proton/wine versions and also tried booting from big picture mode. All crash immediately.
Tried to upload the error log using heroic and it fails to upload.
Is there a way to see the crash log when the games fail?

As mentioned game log “fails to upload” I already attempted to do that
I also can’t seem to copy and paste the log manually
deleted and reinstalled heroic and can upload now

Hmm looking at that file it seems wine is not installed at all?
wine —version in terminal returns command not found installed wine with App Store. Still get the same error tried installing wine via heroic same error https://0x0.st/8K8F.log not same error missing libgamemode.so Anyone??

Installing Wine is not required (your installation won't even be visible to Heroic)

Thanks yeah I removed that version of wine as it clearly wasn’t necessary.
From what I could tell it seems to be a permissions issue of some sort as the files do exist where the log file says they cannot be found

Try running
flatpak update && flatpak install --reinstall com.heroicgameslauncher.hgl inside a terminal

I usually use "user", but I have no idea whether it actually matters

it doesn't matter, but just be consistent so you don't end up with two installed copies
I personally use system because I have a single-user system, and I don't need to have multiple runtimes installed across system and user

That actually fixed it it seems to be able to find wine now. Any idea what the issue might have been? Googling this seems to be pretty common for oled decks
I've never actually had this happen myself, but Flatpak sometimes just... doesn't install all of Heroic's dependencies

Fortnite does not support operating systems other than Windows. This is a deliberate decision made by the game publishers, there's nothing we can do about it.
The only way you can play this game on these OSs is through cloud gaming (GeForce NOW / Amazon Luna / etc.)
