Scorn not working
The title, the game Scorn from GOG doesnt work. It first asks for visual c++ runtime, i install It but after that It enters on a black screen and nothing happens.
Ive tried allready what the older threads said: use wine, use proton, install the visual c++, use umu as proton runtime, so on

Tried both Desktop and gaming mode, same black screen issue. I use latest version of either wine or proton.
Will proton experimental work? Im not very sure about It

Give it a go with GE-Proton
Wine-GE is rather old now (last release is almost a year ago) and thus might not work correctly. Please follow these instructions on using GE-Proton with umu instead:
1. Head to the Wine Manager in Heroic, click the "Proton-GE" tab, and install "Proton-GE-Latest"
2. Enable umu in "Settings" (Heroic sidebar) -> "Advanced" -> "Use UMU as Proton runtime"
Note: For a visual guide, see attached image
3. Head to the settings for your game(s) (icon on game card in library). In the "Wine Version" dropdown, select "Proton - Proton-GE-latest"
4. Rename your Wineprefix (path is shown in game settings), e.g. from
current-name to current-name_bak. To clarify: Rename the actual folder on your hard drive, do not change the option in the game settings.
Note: This will make game-specific configuration data (e.g. in-game settings or save files) unavailable. If this is an issue, let us know & we'll help you restore them.

what if you tried installing from that "Search fonts or components" box?
if it still doesn't work after that, delete that cached .exe

also, close up photos with limited excerpts aren't useful. copying and pasting would be better

Will try to delete the exe
Deleted, i had to try a couple of times of clicking on installing and continue anyways when It kept complaining about checksums, but It ended Up installing visual c++ (32 and 64 bits)
And It worked!!!!!! I tried yesterday the same, umu and ge proton with visual c++ and It didnt worked. I think cleaning everything, deleting cache and doing It again It worked!

sometimes the cached download gets corrupted but doesn't realize it needs to be cleared
