GTA 5 works on desktop but the game mode shortcut
the game will launch on desktop mode but the controls are all funky I assume cause they are for desktop?
I tried to set up a short cut on steam but it won't work it just takes me to the rockstar launcher and tells me to buy it

when you are in desktop mode on the steamdeck, you can hold this 3-lines button to switch the controller between desktop and gaming mode

I tried both adding it through heroic and through the desktop shortcut both don't work properly
So far it works on desktop even with mods so even if I can't get the shortcut working it's not that much of a loss

add it using the
add to steam option in heroic and share a new log after it fails to start

in heroic
- run the game in gaming mode
- restart to desktop mode
- open heroic
- right click the game in the library > logs

that's the right one though it doesn't show anything obvious to me about the issue
just curious, if you run the game using the steam shortcut in desktop mode, does it also not work?

Okay so interestingly enough the heroic made shortcut does not work however the shortcut from the add shortcut right above the add to steam button
That one does work with steam
And just confirmed that it doesn't work in gaming mode again

not sure what could be happening, but what I would try is to set proton-ge-latest instead of
proton experimental and enable umu in general settings > advanced > experimental features

Try proton-ge (24) + umu and if both still fail, re-upload a log

It worked! The only downside was that the mods stopped working for some reason but I'll just run through the story then revert to the original wine prefix then play with those

It probably just created a new prefix so you'd need to reinstall them and it should work fine after that

Would I just need to install them anywhere new? Because they didn't get removed or anything and I deleted them and put them back just incase and it didn't work
