Wine-GE is rather old now (last release is almost a year ago) and thus might not work correctly. Please follow these instructions on using GE-Proton with umu instead: 1. Head to the Wine Manager in Heroic, click the "Proton-GE" tab, and install "Proton-GE-Latest" 2. Enable umu in "Settings" (Heroic sidebar) -> "Advanced" -> "Use UMU as Proton runtime" Note: For a visual guide, see attached image 3. Head to the settings for your game(s) (icon on game card in library). In the "Wine Version" dropdown, select "Proton - Proton-GE-latest" 4. Rename your Wineprefix (path is shown in game settings), e.g. from current-name to current-name_bak. To clarify: Rename the actual folder on your hard drive, do not change the option in the game settings. Note: This will make game-specific configuration data (e.g. in-game settings or save files) unavailable. If this is an issue, let us know & we'll help you restore them.

try enabling Gamescope, it's really useful to solve screen/display/resolution problems

Is that what it is? Did you see that in the log? I don't understand what I'm seeing in the log (there's a worrying amount of "no such file or directory"...).

this gamemodeauto: dlopen failed - libgamemode.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory can be ignored from the title I understand the game runs but it's too small? when I have resolution issues I always try gamescope

Ah, sorry for the confusion. The display resolution screen from the game shows (a windows dialog) but when I press Play, it instantly quits. (Just tested Thea 2, btw and that works... oh, and the one and only Glorius Eggroll just tested Thea 1 for me and it runs on their machine with Proton-GE no issues.) 😅

maybe you can try adding the WINEDEBUG=+fixme env variable https://github.com/Heroic-Games-Launcher/HeroicGamesLauncher/wiki/Environment-Variables#commonly-used-environment-variables to see if it shows any error, from that log nothing stands out

Sorry, but where is that verbose logging information saved to? That page doesn't seem to say, and I added the variable but can't seem to find any new logs.

it should be in the logs of the game in heroic

Oh, I was only able to find the log by opening the game page and clicking "report problem"... https://paste.debian.net/1353798/ Apparently for flatpak it's in /home/.var/app/com.heroicgameslauncher.hgl https://paste.debian.net/1356370/ https://paste.debian.net/1356383/ https://paste.debian.net/1356384/

Also tried the AppImage version of Heroic now, and there was no difference. (Steam works, though... but I'd rather use the GOG version via Heroic.) Steam also doesn't have the issue of the Windows text being too small...

You get this on Windows too, some stuff just rejects being scaled
