i have tried forums, checking in settings, and adding the game to stem but nothing works

i already done everything in the forums and taken the steps to redo my proton + wineGE
i do not expect this game to work at any point as this is just a report to show the flaws in heroic not working with games that claim to be playable
in the near future you should remove games that require dependency from outside sources such as steam from the list of playable games

First: change to proton-ge
Wine-GE is rather old now (last release is almost a year ago) and thus might not work correctly. Please follow these instructions on using GE-Proton:
1. Head to the Wine Manager in Heroic, click the "Proton-GE" tab, and install "Proton-GE-Latest"
2. Head to the settings for your game(s) (icon on game card in library). In the "Wine Version" dropdown, select "Proton - Proton-GE-latest"
3. Rename your Wineprefix (path is shown in game settings), e.g. from
current-name to current-name_bak. To clarify: Rename the actual folder on your hard drive, do not change the option in the game settings.
Note: This will make game-specific configuration data (e.g. in-game settings or save files) unavailable. If this is an issue, let us know & we'll help you restore them.wise-whiteOP•7d ago

This isnt really a flaw of heroic. Not all games work
And generally thats a proton or wine issue
And nearly all games require external dependencies

In any case if they have steam dependencies in their epic game sounds like its on the game devs to fix their own broken stuff not heroics

heroic launcher launches the game and the game runs close to native as possible so it should run the decency the same was it does with dX and runtime

when downloading a game through heroic it also downloads the dependency needed such as dX or runtime
meaning it should do the same with anything steam related

you have Use Steam Runtime enabled in your log, which can cause problems when running games with Proton
Steam is never supposed to be a dependency. that's a game (dev) issue
please provide a log as instructed if you want further assistance

i went and used my laptop which has a difernt built of heroic that has umu but the one im using on steam deck did not have it

it is now downloading the epic redistributable which again is a dependency

Its not a heroic issue if the game doesnt work due to game's developers making some bad choices
Your prefix is wrong
Its not set to a default value
Which would be ~/Games/Heroic/Prefixes/default/<game name>
