World War Z and Overcooked 2 wont launch on steam deck through heroic (possibly other games too)

I've tried launching these two games on steam deck but I haven't tried any others yet. When I try to launch them it just says 'launching' for ages until eventually a black screen comes up with something like this at the top left hand corner of the screen '--', I'll show it in the attached image. I've tried all the latest proton GE versions and proton experimental and none have worked. I've added the games to steam through heroic games launcher and tried launching with proton from steam itself with no luck. I've also tried manually adding the game to steam, but I couldn't find the exe file anywhere. Please help. Edit: after waiting through about 10 minutes of this black screen, the game finally opens, but it doesn't recognise my steam decks gamepad and only recognises it as a computer. The FPS is also very low, 10fps and even less sometimes. Also, if I do find a fix, what proton or wine version is best in this game? The second image attached is what it looks like when it finally opens and I can't control the game to start playing Here's the log URL - https://0x0.st/8meb.log

corrected URL: https://0x0.st/8mm9.log this looks like the log was pulled too early there's no launch command I would enable umu and disable dxvk-nvapi first might need to delete the prefix folder from your drive too

Where do I find the prefix folder? I can only see a client, server, bin, preload, WWZ and Paks folder in my file manager. Also, I tried enabling UMU and disabling dxvk-nvapi and it did nothing. https://0x0.st/8meb.log This one should work

if you are typing these URLs manually, note that the domain is 0x0 (zero-x-zero), not oxo (letter o - x - letter o)

UMU still isn’t enabled yet. Remove the environment variables. Disable DXVK-NVAPI from the Wine tab in settings, not by environment variables. Add WINEDEBUG=+fixme The prefix is at "winePrefix": "/home/deck/Games/Heroic/Prefixes/default/World War Z", Delete that folder using Dolphin

I have no option to disable it from the wine tab, just to auto install/update it on the prefix.

Do I add WINEDEBUG=+fixme to the environmental variables or what?

I can't find it anywhere, and when I look online, it says the best option to disable it is by using environment variables, which you advise against. I found an option called 'use umu as proton runtime', but can't seem to find 'enable umu'.

That’s the one Unchecking it is disabling it

So I've tried all of that, and it's still exactly the same. Takes 10 minutes to finally open up the game, and when it does, I can't control it using the gamepad and it's less than 10fps. I'm using the latest proton GE version and I've also tried experimental etc as mentioned before.

How did you add the game to Steam? Direct from Heroic?
