How do I make desktop mode launch the login manager?

I want to launch GDM instead if GNOME Desktop so that my keyring gets unlocked properly, and for better security. Please help. Thanks!

I'm on an all AMD desktop running Bazzite 41.

We also don't install gdm by default because steamos's switcher is dependent on sddm
