Your bios might have the option for numlock state
this is semi-common. I would check if it exists
I have it under Boot Configuration "Bootup numlock state"
It's not
I looked
It's an Asus Laptop
Are you using kde and is it off on the login and on when you enter the desktop?
You might be able to change your sddm.conf to enable numlock
Yes KDE, it turns off by default, I set it to be on in settings but no difference
How?
Solution

don't ask why the login screen settings in in theming
Nice.
I knew it was something in SDDM
But didn't know it could be done directly from KDE
See images above.
it should still work even on deck images since unda da hood its still using SDDM to load gamescope-session
I did that still doesn't work
Oh wait I have to apply plasma settings?
That worked but scaling is still kinda weird
I have it on 115% and it's kinda fuzzy/blurry
115% is the reason
put it to 100% and no more issues
fractional scaling was improved but its still quite bad sometimes for some reason. Not sure why.
too small
try 125%
or 150%
might be better
Too big
They are better
But too big
And I just tried streaming a game to discord
The whole system locked up

Linux hates me istg

huh, good to know they are aware then
they'll be sunsetting SDDM eventually, sooo
I'm not in development, but I think that "there's nothing as permanent as a temporary solution" is an universal thing 😄
TRUE
The fuzzy icons I can tolerate
I'll make another issue tomorrow about the performance issues
