Cannot handle shaders?
Hello, a friend of mine has an issues with his shaders.
Basically, he has a good pc, an rtx and such.. can play games like cyberpunk or baldur's gate on full resolution but he cannot handle shaders on minecraft, he uses iris shaders right now and it doesn't seem to work in any version, loader, modpack.. anyone can help?
His minecraft becomes reallyyyy glitchy and slow with shaders.
For myself, i have a different pc that is less good than his and can handle without problem..?

Somewhere in your instances settings it should say something like java installation or java executable followed by a file location. Copy this location, then go to windows settings > system > display > graphics, add a desktop app, go to the location you copied, open javaw(.exe), and set it to high performance
Then restart the game afterwards

Why is he plugged into the iGPU lmao
Correct me if Iβm wrong but I donβt think the monitor has to be plugged into the motherboard for a game to use integrated graphics on power saving mode
Varies from board to board. Sometimes the board disables the integrated graphics if the cables are plugged in to the graphics card. This behavior can be configured in the BIOS however.
To be honest i don't know, he built his pc by himself i think and i don't know anything about that stuff π
but i know he has two monitors
If his main monitor is running on his dedicated card Minecraft should run on that card

From what i know, every game of his was on the dedicated card when we changed the mc to high performance, just minecraft wasnt
Minecraft isn't modern enough to automatically pick up a dedicated GPU, only whatever that's powering the display.
Something that Mojang may have to improve in the future.
