anc rerouted for over six months
anchorage datacenter has been rerouted to Seattle (1000mi away) for over 6 months. As a user of the CF DNS and a user of the internet, please fix the ANC stuff. Pretty sure it doesn’t take 6 months to fix something

im not an employee, however I am unsure if you're going to get help here on this, im sure the team is aware as the status page reflects status, it is such a small pop it may not be top priority
Ok, but rerouting to Seattle?? Why not Vancouver or something closer
that much depends on a variety of factors including your own isp's backbone and peering arrangements

still depends, may not be ready to serve traffic
just because the unicast address pings it still may not have the anycast ips that serve websites routed towards it
Not really I ran a trace route and the GCI (Network Provider) is alive
are there anycast ips announced from the pop?
(you wont be able to know unless you peer with cf)

anc serves as a data center for other locations too
Not only anchorage uses the anchorage data center
from what i can see there are no active metals in anchorage
that may be why its rerouted
i mean the metal probably exists physically, but none serving traffic

I lived in Florida before and had Spectrum
Apparently now Spectrum’s parent company is buying GCI
I can’t escape Charter communications even when I am 5000mi away

im at 111 8th ave in NYC monthly for work and a few rows away is a cf rack, i always spend some time looking at it hehe
also seen a few Hurricane Electric racks, but they have stickers on the outside telling you its HE

yeah, ive worked some with equinix fabric which is similar if not a carbon copy, its great for the quick connectivity, but cheaper in long run to plan out and expand without mp
(equinix fabric has the added benefit of not having to pay for xc, just the product itself)
Only think left is for GCI to provide ipv6 for residential customers
