cant find alternative exe

I would install the Rockstar launcher instead and try to run it through that then

You aren't going to be able to run it without Rockstar anyway

yes, either install Steam from the .deb from Valve or use the flatpak

you won't lose the games. move the .../steamapps/.../steamapps/ folder somewhere else to be sure

it says launcher exited unexpectedly after it said it was updating

the fix.bat thing from that guide is ONLY for when you own the game in Epic Games, you shouldn't use that

and the alternative exe option doesn't show up for games that you add with Add GameAdd Game
