I've have a separate EPIC Games Launcher Prefix and it gives the same error.

So just try with Proton Hotfix
GE 9-26 is not recommended

You just have to set game to Proton Hotfix
No further interaction needed
You do that operation within Heroic
Then launch game from Steam

I'm trying proton-hotfix with my epic-games separate prefix. And it works actually
maybe I need to delete the Heroic GTAV prefix and start from scratch?

I’ll update the wiki. That’s on me from seeing the GTA patch notes in 26
FWIW I believe GE is planning on releasing a new version of GE-Proton with the same fix that's in Experimental soon

Yup didn't even realize it was already a week ago until I posted it, time's flying recently
Experimental isn't great to recommend since it doesn't have Protonfixes (so Winetricks won't work with it), but it's better than the game not working at all
