Myth The Fallen Lords quits after first battle

hi, I've tried every solution found online but the game crashes after the first battle or whenever I try to come back to the main menu.
I'm running it under Linux Mint.

I've the big box original CD-Rom and the .iso + .cue files
also I've dowloaded and installed the 1.5 patch, I think is perfectly legal, I can send pictures of the original one

solved using software rendering instead of 3dfx or OpenGL
I don't understand why the wine Database give a Platinum compatibility on a game that doesn't work
