Audio Mystery: No Sound in Gaming Mode, Returns When I TTY
I started with crackling and popping in desktop mode and audio way out of sync in gaming mode. By disabling devices and selecting a profile usinng the Volume Control flatpack, I was able to get clean audio in desktop mode for a game launched with Heroic. But now I am not getting any audio at all in Gaming mode. But if I tty into Bazzite to run pw-top and wpctl status, the audio immediately returns. I've set up a custom wireplumber config to set a low priority for the node that works so I am stumped. I am wondering if the fact that audio returns immediately when I TTY stands out to anyone as an indicator of what the problem might be? It's an HDMI audio device on an old Intel NUC with integrated AMD graphics and the it appears as Polaris 22 Pro Audio HDMI.
