Installed Components: remove_mono internal

Does this remove the mono that comes with the WINE/Proton? If so, how do I stop Heroic from doing that?

rather, what is your issue?

Wine needs to remove mono when you install a real dotnet dependency if you don't believe this should be happening, you need to revisit what Mono is

Well, WINE 10.5 staging comes with a new iteration of mono which solves the issue with dotnet 40. I have 10.5 staging but keep getting the dot net error with ESO. I was told it would solve itself after a restart, but it did not. So then I was advised to try something else though and that worked. I will write up a guide in the morning for those who are still having trouble with ESO's Epic version and post it here. Thanks for the replies.

Proton GE prefixes can not have dotnet 40 properly installed, I think it was also the same for other version of WINE, I think they were layering the dotnet40 or something to make it work. The reason why Epic's version of ESO stopped working for 2 weeks is that EPIC and ZOS made the files mandatory require dotnet40 to work. With WINE 10.5 staging, devs made some changes to mono and the WINE itself to at least have that damn thing be properly installed, or so I was told. After installing dotnet 40 into a fresh prefix through terminal command, for some, the game ran properly with the 10.5 WINE. But it did not for me, I had to change runner to GE-Proton9-27 and then run the game again and then it worked. That is the reason I was asking my question, someone who tested, said that with new changes, I should have been able to directly play with 10.5 staging WINE without any modification.

Proton-GE-Latest and 9-27 should be the same thing, so if it works with 9-27 im not sure what the issue is?

9-27 did not work at all until I went through all the process with WINE 10.5 staging. As for the issue, I was just asking if it was possible to not make Heroic delete the internal mono in the prefix that comes with 10.5 staging as someone who tested told me that he could run ESO without any problem with 10.5 staging.
