Fluidity of Mobile App when browsing photos
Hi - I can scroll up and down through photos via the web browser and the experience is very similar to Google Photos, as an example. Photos may be briefly shown blurred and in less than a second the thumbnails are perfectly normal. Scrolling is fluid and with no "jitter". I have a touch screen laptop and can flick up and down fine.
On my mobile (Galaxy S25) and my iPad Pro using the Immich App, scrolling is not fluid at all. Quite jerky and jumpy and quite a different experience to the browser.
Using the browser (Chrome) on my iPad or mobile, the experience is again similar to the desktop browser.
But the app is not fluid at all.
Is this expected behaviour?

Successfully submitted, a tag has been added to inform contributors. :white_check_mark:Currently yes you may experience this. Having many albums or many assets in a album I think is the main culprit. The sync process is tied to the UI thread of the app right now, so synching can make the app chug. This is currently being worked on and should get better in future releases.
I do have lots of albums which may tie in. Why would the number of albums impact scrolling all photos from the main photos screen?
Albums synching isn't a seperate process, it all runs on the same render thread.
