I'm trying to buy/trade this shell cordovan loafers. Though there seems to be a large crack near the heel. Is this worth it?
I wouldn’t, that crack there is a sign that the rest could be in similarly fragile condition.
yeah, there is a similar crack im the other shoes heel thats just waiting to happen.
I don’t even know if that can be patched. Thats almost rebuild the shoe and replace that piece and that ain’t gonna be cheap
Unfortunately this is not repairable. Cordovan can be quite susceptible to horizontal tearing in this way.
A good cobbler will be able to seal it up with glue and maybe even make it quite hard to see, but honestly it will just open up again after time.

You can find plenty of them on eBay used if you know your size. Those are just unbelievably cooked
