WWOO incorrect FEATURE generation

Some people have been recommending WWOO with distant horizon but i seem to have issues generating LODs with accurate features like trees, rocks, sometime even village houses. I am currently on 1.21.1, neoforge .160, with DH 2.3.2 and the latest WWOO mod/datapack (yields similar results). The reason i am creating a thread is that I am trying to avoid using internal_server generation and i want to know if someone has found a fix.

(William Wythers' Overhauled Overworld for anyone using discord search) actually, just for reference, is anybody else experiencing this? after some more digging, I have found that this is indeed a known issue, tho I have yet to find a fix

The fix was to change DH generation mode from features to internal server. Do note that internal server generation mode will save real chunk and is objectively slower than features, so that's a heads-up for you.

- FEATURES: Complete generation of all LODs with mostly correct structures and trees. Does not save vanilla chunks, and is much faster than INTERNAL_SERVER unless C2ME is installed. - INTERNAL_SERVER: Generates and saves both DH LODs and vanilla chunks, has 100% correct LODs, because it also saves vanilla chunks it takes the most amount of drive space. Generation speed will suck unless C2ME is installed. - PRE-EXISTING: generates LODs for all existing vanilla chunks.

I'm running bluemap on my server and having 256chunks around every player would kill the need to explore on foot which is a big part of minecraft in my opinion there might be a way to only reveal explored chunk on bluemap, but i doubt it. I'm gonna need to check well to my great suprise

Better? No But you can try removing WWOO features that are not supported by DH Features generator Which features are unsupported? No idea How to remove them? No idea However even you remove all WWOo features that have problems with DH Features generator, some structures including trees still won’t match as MC worldgen (and probably all worldgen mods) while generating the same chunk twice can place trees in different places depending e.g. on which was the previously generated chunk (a.k.a. generation order) So the only solution to get 100% matching LODs is to save the generated vanilla chunks alongside it

wow thanks, good to know might try to tweak WWOO to get it working with Features generation, but in my case my main gripe with internal_server was because it would mess with bluemap, but "min-inhabited-time" seems to work well i'm gonna put this issue as resolved but if anyone finds a way to make FEATURE work with WWOO feel free to add

This talk from #dev-chat might be a hint for future improvements on the features generation mode. https://discord.com/channels/881614130614767666/881749094308139008/1363723933605564436 No idea if it'll solve WWOO's generation with features, but something to look forward to.
