Lately there is an issue involving "false bans". My friend was sort of a victim of that. The first point of view was that no cheating was involved on this account. Only one comment was given by Space Gecko - "So the account essentially went from normal play (wins here, losses there) to only getting wins and high average kda and reports also spiked at the same time". This did not clarify anything, since he didn't confirm nor deny if any 3rd party software was involved in the ban. But when another ticket came in confirming that there is also an HWID ban, both PCs used for that account did not have any restrictions of any sort. So the first point of view shifted to the second point of view - if cheats were involved, who got the hardware ban, maybe compromised account? Issues: - Not enough clarity about bans - One sided support (Takes too much effort to get a tiny amount of information) - Low account protection (You can play on any account without access to their email, if 2FA is not turned on, which isn't in most cases) - No notifications involving account safety Solutions: - Disclose the IP where the ban was triggered or at least some sort of ID of that PC - Use the gpt you already use to explain to the user that there is a chance they were compromised, using GamerDocs diagram - Enable 2FA by default, maybe add support for phone number linking or maybe google auth - Maybe an app or an email notification that would warn about suspicious logins from new hardware/location I have a screenshot of one of many places you can buy accounts. GamerDoc uses "haveibeenpwned" as a benchmark to if your account would be comprimised. But as you can see, accounts are being compromised using phishing methods, stealers and being bruted. You don't need a data breach to be "hacked". There are also accounts for sale that don't have any access to their email. So someone can be playing without you knowing. There is just no way to check your login history, no notification.
