Breath of fire

Hi there I have been using heroic for some time but I brought breath of fire form gog but when I boot the game it say play then close I have the ge proton 9.27 running to anyone have a solution

And remove this Also not sure what that steamdeck=1 env var is supposed to accomplish, I'm pretty sure this game doesn't look at that

That'll be fun, looks like the game is trying to use a very old version of D3D

Could you head to the Wine Manager in Heroic & check whether there is an Update icon next to GE-Proton-latest? If that isn't there, you should be using GE-Proton-9.27

Yeah -latest is just "Whatever the latest version is". It's there so you can easily update your Proton version without having to manually re-set it for each game So both of them are 9.27

i remember testing a game with this issue i dont remember what i ended up kicking rocks because most solutions i ran into were proton-centric

Things I would try: 1. Enable umu. Check and uncheck the box for Disable umu 2. Install d3dcompiler_43 and 47 The original release apparently used 7 while the GOG one has a min req of 9

Yeah there's a wrapper shipped with the game (according to PCGW), but if that wrapper would be working you'd see DXVK log messages In cases like this it's usually best to look at the game yourself, it's really easy to miss something small while doing "remote support" like this. Like, maybe we're not running the setup steps for the game correctly, or there's some DLL override required

Can confirm I am having the same issue as well. "Unhandled page fault on read access" This is currently on Wine 8.26 (installed d3dcompler 43 and 47 as suggested above). Also tried it in Proton 9.27

Paste it without the quotes into the left and it’ll format it to what it should be. The variable is in all caps and belongs on the left
