weird lighting underwater for LOD chunks farther away
version:
1.20.1
environment: server (fabric)
dh version: latest (v2.3.2-b
)
hey guys,
quick question - is unusual lighting on ocean floors for lower quality LOD chunks normal? like, i know for a fact that a lot of those "bright spots" in the further away areas are deep oceans which should have basically zero lighting, yet a ton of blocks are shown to have light on them for some reason or another (yes, i've also flown over there to confirm that there indeed is no light)
the LODs closer looks completely fine. but it seems like when DH starts rendering things at the 2-block level, this kinda thing starts happening.
(see attached demo video)
for further context, a lot of the mods i've installed are outdated, so if this behavior isn't expected, then i suppose i can safely assume it's an error with sodium (or anything related, if at all)
thank you!5 Replies
Looks like a bug in dh, not related to your other mods.
Is it tied to the quality preset used? Soif you turn down the quality preset, does it happen closer to you?
You can also try reducing cave culling height a bit, though I doubt that will help much if at all
heya,
yes, i think this thing actually starts happening as long as DH starts using the 2-block rendering preset. if i set
Max Horizontal Resolution
to 2 blocks, then the weird lighting effect becomes immediate. see attached video!i'm assuming this bug is already reported? or should i open one up?
Don't remeber it being reported, it is a new one for me, but always check for yourself for a similar issue already being open
