after the reaction there are 2 Br one at the place of OH and one where is it orignally , with AgBr shouldnt only the top Br go , the below one is aromatic why will it leave? but mam took that 2 Br will come from 1 mole of R

Carius method is just precipitation of silver halide and strong oxidation of everything else. So all halogens are considered. All carbons become CO2, all hydrogens become water After a bit of searching, the only limitations seem to be if the halogens also get further oxidised, but we don't take that into consideration

Ye. Any halogen Apparently it also fails sometimes with, and I quote, "highly halogenated arenes" but I have no clue wtf that's supposed to mean. This is def not one tho
