Spier vs Suit Supply

I’d love if someone could give me a technical breakdown of the difference between Suit Supply and Spier and Mackay suits in terms of cut, materials, and design. My impression from reading is that suit supply is known for more slim fits, and Spier has more classic proportions. Both use many of the same mills. But I’d like to know if anyone has additional insights they might be able to share. I have two sports coats from Spier and like them a lot, but no trousers - and nothing from suit supply. Thanks!

You kinda nailed it on most of the differences Suit Supply has a bunch of physical stores where you can try their stuff on They're also generally a bit more expensive than Spier but that was pre-tariffs

spier originally duped suit supply's cuts i think a lot of the cuts still basically are suit supply dupes

Is getting a Spier & Mackay suit a painful process online if there's a considerable difference of proportions between the upper and lower body? I just realized the other day that I'm a 44S for the jacket and 38 for the tailored trouser at Tip Top

Their default is a -6 drop so you should be good. They told me you basically order the chest size you want for the jacket and then write in the order notes if you need other pants. Then they’ll assess if they have inventory and if not let you know the options
