White Leather Sneakers, Shoe Care, and Fit Advice
I just came from the MFA sub so apologies for being really out of touch. Before I knew anything about fashion at the start of this summer I just bought a bunch of boxy washed Hollister tees and Abercrombie YPB shorts for the gym. That’s all I rock on a day to day basis along with Adidas Adilette slides. I literally own no shoes that aren’t burner/work/lawn-mowing shoes right now, this is my most urgent concern. Beyond that, I actually kind of like my tees and shorts but I know everyone shits on Hollister so idk. I’m mainly looking for a good white leather sneaker recommendation. As for shoe care, what is the biggest thing I can do to make my shoes last significantly longer and not get super dirty on white?

For making things last: don't wear the same shoes every single day.
For cleaning: a damp cloth will do 95% of what you need.
Ight thanks
Should I put em back in the shoebox after use or just leave em on a towel in my bedroom
I don’t have a closet and don’t wanna keep my shoes where everyone else does
dog get a tiny shoe rack or a rug don't just leave them on a towel😭😭
what is different btwn a rug and a towel 😭
towel looks like youve given up
im fraudulent
Aye do the sneaks needa be leather
You should get shoe trees made of cedar. Not wearing the shoes every day is also good
im fucking overthinking this
ok thx
what shoe u think i should get?
geobaskets
im also looking for white leather sneakers - is it okay if I hijack this thread with my own questions or do I have to start a new one? whats the rule
new thread, include a budget and some pics of how you dress otherwise assholes like me will just tell you to get geos
less than $150
boxy hollister tees and black gym shorts
lemme find a pic online rq
Atp just buy what you like it isn't that deep
alr
ima just get vans authentics my only concern is if theres any point buying two for a shoe rotation cuz they are shit quality anyways
Use the search function before you make a thread
There are at least 20 threads about white leather sneakers
Vans are gonna last you as long as literally any other sneaker. Like chopper said, don't wear the same shoes every single day. Shit will last forever.
alr bet
shoe trees not necessary right
not at all nah
No.
Nice i almost bought into the bullshit
not like ill ever own $300 boots
i mean
they don’t hurt
but they’re not worth it in this case
Ok
Thanks all
last question: is leather neccesary
and if i get leather is any care beyond a wet cloth required
white leather sneakers were a massive trend in the 2010s and a bunch if r/mfa users still think they're a wardrobe necessity but that just isnt true
Okay ima get two canvas authentics then
i like those
keep buyin shit u like. Handful of posters here use vans authentics, cons, and other canvas sneakers in their fits and they look great. #waywt & #waywt-highlights a real good way to see people puttin shit on
What yall do if you get mud on the kicks lol
White sneakers nearly always look better a bit beaten up.
You can pretty safely put a pair of canvas sneakers on a cold wash with a low spin cycle in a pillow case if you wanna freshen them up.
Can they just air dry in my room after i wipe em down
Yes.
Or put in og box
This is the bullshit my brain worries about bro thanks for the help
ion have a closet
Don't put wet shoes in a box. Good way to make em stink cos they won't dry out fast enough.
Alr ill just have a towel in my room to set shit on
Bro
shoe rack
shoe rack
Like dis?

why?
y
It's cheap and lets your store shoes.
its much more organized than a towel
shoe rack + little rubber or plastic mat lets the bottom of your shoes dry and is easier to clean + less gross than a towel
alr thx
purchased ikea mat and two racks
and two vans white authentics
thanks twins
:letsfuckinggo:
Let's fucking gooo
hella
fwiw most shoe stores with vans will have basic canvas shoe cleaning kits if you don't want to mess with a washing machine
but they're pretty low maintenance shoes so hf
The most maintenance I've ever done on canvas was a toothbrush, some dish soap and cold water
My current (black) converse have never been cleaned
