xbox 360 drivers don't work or not passing controllers to games

Xbox 360 controllers or controllers that use that driver don't work on non steam games. the controller shows up in the game controller menu in the settings but all games native or through wine don't see it. this controller works with non steam games on my steam deck in desktop mode.
