satchel/around town bag
Hey! I'm packing for a trip and realized that I don't have a great bag for bringing with me to carry day-to-day essentials. I've been using a tote bag, but I always have a hard time keeping it on my shoulder. I've also used a messenger bag, but that's too big + unwieldy.
I'd love cross-body, and it needs to be able to hold a water bottle, kindle/book, and like sunglass case. Bonus would be ability to hold a small knitting project (e.g. socks) and multiple pockets for like charging cords or other miscellanea. Preferred price range would be like $100, but I'd be fine with ~$150

I've found a couple of tote bags with longer straps so they can go cross-body. Unfortunately idk where to buy them since I got them all for free at various times but that might be something you can hunt down
it's possible that something like a sling bag/lumbar pack could work, but i'm afraid i only know about gorpy ones (topo etc) off the top of my head
hmm... I don't think I lean gorp-y style-wise, but I wouldn't mind taking a look if you have suggestions! I'm still very much figuring things out lol

actually probably something you could rig up with another bag as well just by bringing another strap along/having a very adjustable one
I find a north south tote bag way easier to keep on my shoulder due to the weight distribution

My partner uses the Baggu medium crescent bag as her day bag. She fits a liter bottle, kindle, snacks in it pretty easily.
It's still a gorp-y look, but some of the muter colors keep it pretty minimal looking. Nice material too.
there's also a large size, but that seems too big to me. almost like a bicycle messenger bag.
