Mixin transformation of net.minecraft.class_3898 failed
no idea what this means
@lands get the log at
C:\MultiMC\instances\1.21.4\.minecraft\crash-reports\crash-2025-05-08_11.05.04-server.txt
have you checked if it happens with just fabric and dh and nothing else on a fresh 1.21.4 instance?
is this version 2.3.2-b too? you could try the nightly just in case as well
where do i obtain the nightly?
in the links and downloads channel
also, should i try on another system to see if the mod works? are there any specific requirements?
im already recreating your instance to try to reproduce the crash
i can just export my multimc instance
better for me to make a fresh one

even tho im on prism which is a multimc fork so i could import it
that moonrise mod seems like it could be a problem
ah
i think that mod optimises chunk loading, can't remember
your sodium version is quite out of date
i updated it not that long ago
latest version is 0.6.13

ah
i'm probably not gonna update this if this isn't the problem
not saying that IS the issue but it could be
why not?
no reason to
it probably has several bug fixes which you could face
and other mods could expect a newer version
especially when you add mods to an instance on the fly
usually only update if a mod i'm installing requires a newer version
if this was the case the game would fail to start and fabric would tell you
i am able to reproduce the crash
yep
dead on
it was moonrise
disable moonrise and see if it fixes it for you
if so mark this thread as solved
gimme a few mins, i need to resolve dependency issues that i somehow didn;t have before
ok what, this isn't even on a mod thathas anything to do with rendering
the reason i suspected it was moonrise is because of this

ignore the uwufied english
>kde
yeah
whatis incompatiblec2me
nothing, it's just that preview not showing properly
this table

okay, game starts out not doing anything with 0fps, then slowly loads and runs poorly without me going over the already set 32 chunks
this is unplayable without moonlight
you or me should report this incompatibility to moonrise so they can at least add it to the known compatibility issues
are you trying to use 32 chunk distance with dh?
was trying to go >32 because 32 chunks runs fine with my existing mods
that's a big nono with dh
set the vanilla render distance to something no higher than 12
i thought dh was meant for going over 32 chunks
it doesn't try to expand the vanilla render distance
what is the purpose of this mod then
it adds that whole new rendering system, an LOD system that renders terrain farther away at lower detail so it's feasible for the gpu to run
i was told it increases render distance and the name makes sense for this assumption
you were misled then
bruh
but hey, what it does is way better than just raising the render distance limit
>it saves as sql
what
the LOD data it generates is saved on a sqlite database
so you don't have to regenerate them when you leave the world or reload it
and this generation process is slow too
but yeah since this doesn't fit my use case at all, what mods should i be looking at that increase render distance?
hold up a second
is this not your use-case?

regular render distance is set to 8 there
i want to increase my render distance past 32 chunks
so no LOD system?
unless that's what you're showing? now i'm really confused what the purpose of this mod is
you're increasing the render distance but this mod isn't meant for increasing render distance? i'm confused
it renders terrain farther away in an increasingly lower levels of detail (LOD), and it does that on top of the regular render distance
look

wdym on top of regular render distance
yeah that looks pretty bad
i'm gonna look at other mods, the use case of this mod is unclear
it doesn't change regular rendering, it adds the lower level rendering after the regular rendering ends
Level of detail (computer graphics)
In computer graphics, level of detail (LOD) refers to the complexity of a 3D model representation. LOD can be decreased as the model moves away from the viewer or according to other metrics such as object importance, viewpoint-relative speed or position.
LOD techniques increase the efficiency of rendering by decreasing the workload on graphics p...
they left the server
Solution
also look at this, this is the conflicting mod's github (moonrise)

it's worse than optifine
gosh darn it, a mod has to mark the thread as solved
the other guy didn't even bother to mark it as solved even tho i told them to do it
@Yes.eleven sorry for the ping but can you mark this thread as solved? it was moonrise being worse than optifine in terms of compatibility
oh crap, sorry lmao, pinged the wrong person
@Yeshi (GMT+2) could you please mark this as solved?
thanks james
