genshin imapct hangs on launch
Switched yesterday from AAGL to HGL due to the former being depricated, the game downloaded and ran fine however today it doesn't launch at all. I click the launch button in HGL and it just hangs on that launcher, not pulling up the Genshin one but it still says that its running even though I'm not seeing it in the task manager. I tried the trick where you disconnect from the internet to launch it but that didn't help either.

how do i add those versions of proton to HGL? i'm not going through steam at all for this game

if you don't have Steam installed at all, then use ProtonPlus to install Wine-Staging-Tkg
but you don't need Steam to run the game. you just need Steam to download Proton
minor correction, you need Steam running but not need it to run the game itself

i'm not seeing experimental either and i know for a fact that one is installed

I wouldn't move it to the GE folder

you need to check your flatpak folder settings. Heroic should already have access to

so i brute forced it recognizing proton 10 and experimental by copying and pasting the files into the folder where it recognized the ge protons i had installed and now i get this error

i got the same result from experimental and didn't get anything from the various ge-protons i tried

install wine-staging-tkg then
GE-Proton is too old
you need something based on 10, which is either Proton 10, experimental, or wine-staging-tkg
use ProtonPlus to install wine-staging-tkg
don't cobble together a workaround solution based on your flatpak Steam + Proton 10
also, when you have a failed run, post a new log
