Uniqlo U jacket sizing: women's vs men's?
I have the hooded blouson in a unisex small, and it fits well. I want to get this women's zip up short blouson, but I'm not sure what size to go with (https://www.uniqlo.com/us/en/products/E476939-000/00?colorDisplayCode=31&sizeDisplayCode=002). I also wear a small in the unisex linen blend shirt jacket which has a body width of 22.5" while this one has a width of 23". This jacket is much more cropped though, which I like, but I don't want it to sit fully above the belt. It's hard to tell where it would be from the measurements alone (22" length for the small, 22.5" for the medium). This guy is 5'8" and wearing mid-high rise pants with the small for reference (https://www.tiktok.com/@jae.for.jason/video/7495649230992919854). I'm 5'7" but tend to wear pants lower, so I'm not sure it will hit where I'd want it to.
Should I go with the medium if I don't want it to hit any higher than that, even if I'd probably prefer the sleeve length and overall proportions on the small?

why not just get both and return the one that doesnt work
not in stock at my store, and online returns are no longer free
Can you buy online and return in store?
feels really hard to answer your question otherwise
online returns have to be mailed back, however they do say you can exchange them in store for a different size in the same item, but not sure that could be arranged since this is out of stock at all the stores near me
even if you ship to store, it counts as online btw, so you can't just order both and instantly return the one that doesn't fit when you pick up
given that its a boxy fit, i would bet on the medium rather than the small
arms look kind of short on the video you posted
you could also just wear pants that you wanted to pair with this, then either wear a jacket with similar length measurements or just roughly measure yourself the length from where the collar hits to your belt
you think so? the model on the product page is 5'10" also in a small
could be because she has a lot narrower shoulders
vs a dude
most of the pants I want to wear with this like the wide chinos from the same collection sit mid or lower
half an inch between the two isn't really that huge of a difference, but it you are really a stickler for where it hits its very dependent on how the clothing fits on you
chinos sitting mid on you can be different than it sitting mid on me
i think your best option, if you want to be as close as possible to trying it on without trying it on is getting measurements like i suggested
I did try that, but it's still hard to guess because it also has that elastic around the hem and tends to bunch up somewhat as seen in the video
these are all very small differences that you are only gonna be able to find out by putting the garment on
that's true, I guess I'll just order the medium and see how it works, hopefully if I do have to exchange they won't be sold out by then
looking at his other video in the small, I'm pretty sure it would be above my belt even with arms down: https://www.tiktok.com/@jae.for.jason/video/7486306758130945326?q=%22short%20blouson%22%20uniqlo&t=1746815526334

assuming you mean this hooded blouson and this linen shirt jacket i feel there's not enough information to answer the question via numbers
easiest way would be either buying both and returning one or trying on in store
what valchrist said about wearing the hooded blouson and ideal pants and measuring up 5.5" inches to see where this blouson hits as a rough guide also works
but without an idea of what mid-rise is to you, or what inseam these pants are, or where the hem of these good fitting jackets hits, or if your shoulders or chest are broader/narrower than the other people pictured there's no fully accurate way to figure this out with pure math
yeah +1 to ordering both and sending one back
my philosophy with this is “is saving $7 more important than getting the right fit?
Ultimately you cant be this picky about fit without spending some extra cash
