Whether driving hours to a stockist for an item or flying to a specialist for a custom item or seeing a person/place/thing in the flesh, what have been your most notable journeys for the sake of fashion? Were they worth it?

Yes, last year I was looking for a specific Kapital jacket and sweatshirt from Mogi when I travelled to Japan. It felt good buying them in person because the Kapital jacket was way less expensive than it would have been outside of Japan and Mogi is a small shop that doesn’t do wholesale. I wanted the sweater because its kind of an iconic/cult store for menswear industry insiders and it made for a nice souvenir because you can only get it over there.
It's nice when these missions take you to shops and places you normally wouldn't visit
When I went to Tokyo years ago I had to go to Hiro Yanagimachi’s shop. I didn’t get a putting, but got sized. Was really cool to see those shoes in person.

On the other hand, I love my Paraboot Michaels and Vetra chore coat, both purchased in France.
With tariffs, I'm seriously considering picking up a couple of blazers from Spier and Mackay while in Toronto this summer.
i sometimes make a 2 hour drive to go to a vintage store but that’s the most you will get out of me tbh
i did love making a pilgrimage to a paraboot store in paris
Last year I was lucky enough to take a business trip to Germany, and used that opportunity to travel bit further to Munich to visit Samsa G which only stocks Carol Christian Poell.
It was an extremely profound experience and gave me a newfound interest in the brand, I didn’t purchase anything but the conversations there were amazing, highly recommend
The white oak plant is very close to my in-laws. I should see if they have a museum.
