Outer layer
Hello, I am looking for an outer layer I can buy to pair with my dark jeans. I would like to wear it also in summer or autumn.

some info that will help inform responses
- budget
- how warm it gets where you are
- any inspo or product references you have, specifically pictures
if i were you id look at #đź‘•đź—ˇ-round-of-4

and find some fits or jackets you like to start with
because the list of things that fits these parameters is much longer than the list of things that don’t (ie wool/heavy coats, anything down/puffer, patagonia style vests, pea coats, anything longer than about waist length)
Temperatures here 🌡️
Summer (June – August)
- Average high temperature: 27–30°C
- Average low temperature: 14–18°C
Autumn
- September: 20–25°C
- October: 12–18°C, cooler temperatures begin
- November: 5–10°C, noticeably colder
- November: 5–10°C, noticeably colder
What I found on the internet

alr a layer that doesn’t roast you in 30c won’t keep you warm in 5c
you could get mileage out of any shirt or shirt jacket here
look for breathable fabrics like cotton, linen or rayon over wool, flannel, poly blends or silk
this is specifically a long sleeve camp collar shirt
Ideally something i can also wear indoor
it seems like you’re in europe, so secondhand id be looking at ebay or vinted. without a budget it’s hard to recommend anything specific, but weekday seems popular and has good cuts or uniqlo is always an option.
Do you think 3/4 sleeve shirts are good too?
And if u wore a shirt, what would u put on it
i’d rather a long sleeve since i can cuff it to 3/4 if i wanted
that’s personal taste tho
wym
Shirts can be the base layer
And then you layer something over it
From what i have seen in japanese fashion
again a huge question, you’d be best served by looking up fits you like and figuring out how to get there. here’s some summer/fall shirt layering i’ve done in the past.

etc there isn’t a right answer it’s all up to taste

but like kyn said the number of jackets you could wear with dark jeans is high (layering helps); it's best to see what you like first

@zeometer (xxxvi) @kyn i think that i would like loose fit cotton/linen overshirt
What do u think
thats between you and god at this point
i do not know how you dress or what you like better than you do
in a vacuum it's not a bad idea but how you wear loose cotton/linen overshirts is different than how either of us
i would really funnel towards one specific thing you want (what color is it, does it have a pocket, how much linen is it, how much do you want to spend)? you do not need to answer these right now
once you have a solid idea of what you want, this post and the linked notion file has a number of eu brands which may have the overshirt you're looking for https://discord.com/channels/1116793467654381685/1212368672363118613
Beige colour would be fine
you do not need to answer these right now
Do you mean like mull it over?
yes - if you're shopping with a vague idea of what you want you may end up with something you dislike. if you still want it after a few days or couple weeks then it's likely you'll still like it months later
if you have the means to try on stuff in person that may also help your decision making
Okay thanks for that advice
🙂

sure
i do not have an opinion on which is the best; all look fine (not knowing how they feel)
if you like one the most, buy it. if you don't like any that much, keep looking.
@zeometer (xxxvi) @kyn I've got an idea
Black slightly loose-fit jeans, black overshirt with 3/4 sleeves, loose-fit white t-shirt, and a watch.
if you can find a 3/4 sleeve length black overshirt that looks good to you then go for it
unless you have a specific reason or reference you're trying to wear 3/4 sleeve you can probably roll up a long sleeve and get the same outcome
Okay
