Switching TPM versions with encrypted Disks
Hey, new to Linux and Bazzite, have a question before I go ahead with installing it onto my drive.
I'm currently using a back-up PC while waiting for my main one to be repaired. This is an older PC with I believe TPM1.1 or TPM 1.2 (AM4 X470 platform). My main PC has TPM 2.0 (AM5 X870 platform) and should be back in a few weeks.
The question is, if I have my drives (1x M.2 NVME + 1xHDD) encrypted and use auto-unlock with TPM on this back-up PC, can I place them into my main PC once I get it back without issues.
Alternatively I can borrow a PC that has TPM2.0 on it but not sure if it would also cause issues going from one mobo to a different one
I assume I'll have to enter the encryption key/passphrase and that I'll need to back up the keys just in case.
Sorry if this has been answered elsewhere, I tried finding it.
Thanks!
Edit told in chat TPM2.0 required, can just enter passphrase after switching then run the command again.
