Higher Density
I applied a scatter to a landscape but it wasn't dense enough. It forces me to use a table for a landscape, and I can't push the density any higher than 1. How can I increase the number of rocks I am spreading on the landscape?

Hey @arabinowitz 🙂
What do you mean by forces you?
The table density is only for offsetting one mesh/group of mesh density compared to another, so it is only 0-100% you can see it as. It is the main density value outside of the table that drives the density 🙂
And the tricks to push density to the max is writing in values in the density field, and then going to Misc settings and maxing that as well, I think it is 2 million as max.
If you share some pictures/video of your idea/setup I can see if I have some more tips for you!
When I say “forces” I mean that when I press the + button to add objects, it automatically puts them in a table. I am unable to assign them to the, general list of scatter objects. I’ll send video later today.
Re density… so the general density value is a multiplier for the table? i tried cranking the general number up and didn’t see any result.
Aha, ye there is no general list, if you you just use the + sign they are all added to the first bucket in the table, and then you can create several buckets if you want less trees than rocks for example.
So ye you can see it as a multiplier yes kinda, but only in relation to another "bucket"/table row
My PC can't handle max so I can't show it, but you can type in numbers on both of these places. But if you are using proximity masks or other mask that impacts the density as well, so that's why it will be helpful to understand more about your setup/scatter settings
@DanielFreden (Dash for UE5) Maybe I am doing something wrong, but take look.
Ah - wait. it's the max count. So that solves the issue of density. What about the table thing?
Yes! Good!
Regarding the table, it is just the way it works right now, once you use the + icon, they get auto added to the table row 1. So with that, basically nothing has changed, you still use the + sign to add things to scatter. (But we need to improve the table as right now there is no dropdown list of the 10 things you have in row1 for example).
But the change and value with this table feature is when you want to scatter things and want more of one object compared to the other. Then, instead of just using the + sign, you can open the table create a 2nd row, for example for trees, add in a few trees and then adjust the density offset to maybe 0.5, then there will be 50% less trees compared to your rocks in Row 1 in the table.
I hope that explains it better 🙂
