Artificial borders in gaming mode

Hi! I’m wondering if it’s possible to remove the artificial black/grey borders that show up in bazzite gaming mode? (This is on an Rog Ally Z1E btw) They don’t show up in desktop mode nor when launching a game in desktop mode, causing games in gaming mode to be a little smaller.

I’ve added som pictures for reference. The first three are in gaming mode, both in-game and in the Home menu, and the last three are in desktop mode.

What is your display resolution set to? I wound up with a similar issue where I had accidentally managed to set my display to a wonky ratio (something like 165:92 instead of 16:9)

Thanks, but I checked and it’s in 16:9 and the issue’s still there :/

I fixed it! I went into desktop mode, launched steam in big picture and from there turned on Automatically scale image. It might also have been fixed because I restarted the device after having it docked and projecting to another screen. I have to admit I’m not quite sure, but either way it’s fixed now !
