Normality (SBC) doubt

Hello sir, why do we need the concept of gram equivalent mass in chemistry? I simply don't understand this, mole concept was working fine, then why this equivalent mass?? Ik that using equivalent mass doesn't require balancing of chemical equations and all of that stuff, but that's not enough for convincing me to understand its importance? @iTeachChem

You can check out my videos on this topic, maybe that'll help.

I understood the concept sir..infact i watched your videos and they were truly of great help. But my doubt still remains as to "why" and "how" this concept is useful in redox reactions? Deepseek says "while moles are fundamental for quantifying particles, equivalent mass provides a pragmatic layer for reactions where reactivity per unit mass matters", which is kinda confusing to understand @iTeachChem

Yea yahi to bataya :) it’s the mass that reacts with one mole of electrons. Hence relevant! All chem reactions - electrons are involved. And electrons furnished = electrons used. This is diff from mass balance that you do while balancing reactions. And more relevant to reactions where ions exist.
