Dual boot, trying to share saved games between OS
Hello!
Im relatively new to linux gaming and giving heroic a shot.
I have several steam games installed on Windows and managed to point Heroic to it in Linux (PopOS/COSMIC 24.04).
They run pretty well, but I was wondering if I could point Heroic to use the saved games of my Windows install too?

Hi, it's not really super possible, no. You could maybe boot a few games through proton, but not most, probably.

Wtf are you doing?
Why not install the Linux version of steam, and you steam to play the games instead of trying to do some convoluted thing where you point heroic to the game executable in steam? (Which by the way with a large majority of steam games is not going to work because they require steam to launch)
If the steam game has cloud support the saves are going to be shared

Thanks for that. That wasn't helpful. At all.
I switch from windows to linux often. Sometimes I like to play a game during my break and my disk space is limited. If I could, I'd had them installed on both. And I thought it'd be nice to not have to switch to windows and close my work sessions entirely or vice-versa.
If it's not possible, I'll take that. 🤷

You're very welcome for the response and if it wasn't helpful you didn't read it all that clearly but in any case, from your response I can't tell if you're working on Linux and you don't want to close your work session you just want to play a few steam games in your free time.
That is absolutely possible by what I suggested. You can install the Linux version of steam and play those games from the Linux steam. You have to do a workaround to make sure that your proton prefixes are not on the Windows drive but you can use the game that is on the Windows drive and if the game has cloud support the safes are going to be carried over to Linux native version of steam.
If the the game is one of those few that save the data to the game folder itself it would be there since you'd be using the one you last used on Windows
In any case that attitude to somebody who took the time to answer your question is a very good way to ensure you don't get help next time from anybody
