you shouldn't start steam games with Heroic, this is fundamentally wrong
fair-roseOP•4mo ago
but how can i start it
the steam proton is not to use
game start with it not
i need GE proton
ratty-blush•4mo ago
then install GE-Proton into Steam
fair-roseOP•4mo ago
how, i see no option for this
ratty-blush•4mo ago
use ProtonUp-qt or ProtonPlus - both of these can be installed as flatpaks
fair-roseOP•4mo ago
what is better
stormy-gold•4mo ago
or if you want to do it manually, simply extract proton-ge into
~/.steam/steam/compatibilitytools.d/
fair-roseOP•4mo ago
i wonder me why steam it not self build in the GE version
stormy-gold•4mo ago
its made by community, Valve has their own builds of Proton that they make available in steam
fair-roseOP•4mo ago
ProtonUp-qt or ProtonPlus
hm what is better
or is recommend
ratty-blush•4mo ago
doesn't really matter
fair-roseOP•4mo ago
what use you?
ratty-blush•4mo ago
ProtonPlus will probably be easier for you to use
fair-roseOP•4mo ago
hmm
dont start
have changed

fair-roseOP•4mo ago
idk why but steam is bad in linux games start
ratty-blush•4mo ago
what folder do you have the game installed in?
fair-roseOP•4mo ago
what do you mean
fair-roseOP•4mo ago

ratty-blush•4mo ago
what filesystem is the
/media/morris
drive?fair-roseOP•4mo ago
extenal harddrive
ratty-blush•4mo ago
yes, what file system is it?
fair-roseOP•4mo ago

ratty-blush•4mo ago
fuseblk means it's NTFS. that is not supported for Linux gaming
fair-roseOP•4mo ago
hm but is this the reason?
heroric can it start
why not steam
ratty-blush•4mo ago
because Heroic is putting the prefix in a different folder
Heroic by default puts the prefix onto the internal drive
Steam puts the prefix on the drive where the game is installed
there is a workaround, which I can direct you to, but I will not provide support for it afterward
fair-roseOP•4mo ago
hmm okey you mean i need FAT32?
ratty-blush•4mo ago
ext4 or btrfs
ratty-blush•4mo ago
GitHub
Using a NTFS disk with Linux and Windows
Compatibility tool for Steam Play based on Wine and additional components - ValveSoftware/Proton
ratty-blush•4mo ago
FAT32 and exfat will also not work for linux gaming
fair-roseOP•4mo ago
okey ten try i it later with ext4
thanks
ratty-blush•4mo ago
you could just move the game to your installation drive using the "Move install folder" command in that screen above
that'll let you play it

yes it work, but idk, the newst version work in heroic, but in steam not, but the 2. newst work in steam
