Immich iOS app ; Photos wrong date( 1 day later)
So since a while, some photos are showing incorrect dates.
I have taken one example, the photo is made on saturday 17th may and showing in Immich on 18th may.
The only thing i can find it '' photo modified at 19 may'', but i did not do anything with the photo yesterday.
The weird thing is, when i check my icloud Photos gallery app, it isn't even showing, on that date.
i can't figure out why, i attached the screenshots, hope it's clear enough and otherwise i'm ready to deliver more information.
The screenshots are attached are from:
Webapp Details
iOS app details
ios photos app(original)

Yes!
Well... there's your issue
Whatsapp images don't contain any metadata
So Immich goes by file creation date
But the photo is recieved on 17th of may on whatsapp( ios photos confirmed this) and on Immich is it 19th may(today)
Was your phone the one to take the picture?
No. Maybe to explain it better:
I recieved a whatsapp image on saturday, But in the Immich app it looks like it downloaded/recieved today
While iCloud photos app is showing saturday
WhatsApp pictures have no date info. It’s basically random chance what date gets set
As to the future I assume it’s some combo of time zones being weird
Was it uploaded to immich today?
It was. So Immich thinks it was recieved today, while iCloud says Saturday
Right. It has the date of when it was uploaded to immich. Icloud probably shows saturday because that's when you recieved it.
Okay. Got it. So only whatsapp images have this.
So the best is to set background uploading, so it does it Every day?
Whats app is the big one I know for stripping exif.
If that's what works for you then yeah, it will still have the date of whenever it was uploaded to immich.
Thank you!
