How to know what size to get for a high rise pants?
Hey everyone, I'm looking at a pair of pants I'd like to get and the size guide says around 80cm waist pants measurement for the only size that is in stock. I'm almost 80cm when I measure around where an underwear is on (I have no idea how it's called in English), but if I measure around the bellybutton like most sites say I'm around 75cm. I still need to bulk more. Am I measuring correctly? Am I cooked and the size just doesn't fit me? Thanks in advance yall

Find a pair of pants that fit you well and use that for the waist measurement. Even better if you have a pair of pants with a similar rise measurement.
this is a really stupid question but how do I measure the waist of the pants itself? I usually just measure only the front, do I spin the measuring band on the waist of the pants one time outside? how is a 80cm mid rise pants are different than a high rise 80cm even though they have the same waist?

Lay the pants flat and measure across as shown in the picture above
From your comment above it sounds like you’re doing it properly. Just measure the front part when laid flat
Rise just dictates where the pants sit on your body. Higher rise sits higher (think near or above bellybutton) and low rise is a lot lower than that. I was just saying to use a high rise pair if available to you since it’s a closer comparison for measurement sake
thanks for the help! last question, how do you know where the pants are supposed to sit on your body? like when I wear regular mid rise jeans I usually feel when they are high enough and the rise doesn't look weird, with high pants I'm not sure where they are supposed to stop or if they are dropping to low because a lot of space in the rise is left. I'm really not sure how to phrase this, basically I feel like I don't know if a high rise pants fit good as I'm wearing it because there is too much space in the rise
It’s all just preference. Some people like higher rises and it seems like you’re more comfortable with a mid rise.
I enjoy a larger pant that can be flowey and billowy. For that type of fit, a longer rise works really well. For a more traditional pair of straight cut denim I might opt for something with a shorter rise since I’m aiming for a different look
Those are just a couple examples. There’s no objective right or wrongs. The best way to go is to find pictures and inspiration that you like - then analyze it and look at things like leg width and rise length
Do own a pair of high rise pants now? If not, it might be helpful to try on a pair of high rise pants at a store and measure the rise and waist of those, to see how you like the fit to compare to the ones you’re trying to get online.
Helpful to sit down in them too.
I have a high rise pair that I haven't worn much because I'm not sure I'm wearing it correctly if it makes sense lol
maybe I don't think they look good because I wasn't using the right belt or haven't tucked a shirt properly though
they fit decent even though they're a bit big on me so I have to use the last hole on a belt
Might also be that you’re not used to them, or don’t know how you like to style them yet. Took me a while to figure out higher rises for sure.
I tend to like pants a little big to a little tight, just for comfort. High rise definitely feels different after a meal lol
