What type of shirt/collar is this?

Yep. It’s a holdover from when shirts had detachable collars. People would wear their shirts without and then put the collar on for special occasions to save starching it/cleaning it regularly.

It goes in and out of style. It was popular again for a bit in the 2010s. Also called Mandarin collar

They're all just marketing adjectives tbh. It's not a true Mandarin collar but they'll still often label it as that
