Smart Casual Shoe Options
Hello, I am reaching out for ideas for shoes or boots that could work for a smart casual style. My style leans Ivy but I try to incorporate European and Japanese city boy elements as well. I’m just getting out of university so I’m still expanding and learning.
My issue is that my feet are abnormally shaped with narrow heels, low insteps, and thin ankles: Combined that all means that my feet will not work in nearly every loafer I’ve tried. I think I just need to be in something that can be tightened be it a shoe or a boot.
I currently have a pair of chunky lug soles derbies and a pair of stitch down Viberg style work boots. I’m considering lug soled boat shoes and maybe also chukka boots
Are there any other options I should consider? Other advice would be highly appreciated too.
Thanks!

budget? maybe just go custom?
Yuketen mocs.
I’d say that I want to keep things sub 500 considering that it can be tricky to fit my feet into certain lasts.
is a mule an option for you?
if you like the style of salomon XT-6, they run nice and narrow
and can be styled really well into that set of styles
maybe a danner mountain light-esque hiking boot style?
new balance 990s in narrow widths
also you might consider going into the womens section on some shoe sites because they can be more narrow as well

If you’re willing to spend more some companies are willing to go full custom for sizing, like it’s a 200 up charge but these guys will do full custom sizing with a mailed in fit sheet https://www.gokeyusa.com/home/gokey-shoes/gokey-sauvage-oxford-shoe/
