i love demna, he did the house justice and im sad to see him go i dont have much faith in PP but I'll hold my breath. really excited for the final couture collection

Demna defined balenciaga so completely that i genuinely forget it is like an ancient fashion house and not his own brand He and his work there defined the last 10 years. He and alessandros gucci are what everything trickled down from

I dont know what direct influence balenciaga had on me, but being new to fashion while it was in its prime really helped me keep my mind open in terms of what could be done with clothes

Hurts badly to see him go from Balenciaga. He and his brother still will be designing clothes, and as long as thats happening I’m hoping they’ll continue to have an outsized influence on the fashion industry

Seth do you know the history of how balenci went from being like a classic traditional couture house to like Avant-garde/whatever you’d call it today? I’ve tried to look it up in the past to no avail, didn’t realized they’d closed for such a long time I bet that has something to do with it.

i dont have the exact history on me but i would say that balenciaga under cristobal would be considered pretty avant garde for the time the house closed bc cristobal retired
