parts of my overlay are not working
im using chrome browser, streamlabs desktop obs, and inputing overlay via browser source. the issue im having is my border, title, and my recent follow and recent sub layers of my overlay are working but i also have a number of other layers connected to commands that arent working (only the visuals of my !lurk command no audio i added) what is supposed to happen is i type !bake in my chat and a gif of gandalf smoking pops up with a 10 sec sound bite that says smoke weed everyday pops up in the corner for about 10secs then fades away and thats the same with the rest. they work fine on your site and kinda works wit the extension but not all the time and only works for pc viewers and i would like to have this work for all my viewers. i also have some auto response layers like follows, subs, bitties, and donations that maby work half the time. those are set up to pop during that event witha gif and 10 sec sound bite but those work about half the time any help will be huge thank you guys

are you live now?
im not
ill be live 6pm pst tonight though
Can you post the link to your overlay in the builder?
idk if you got the link is it that one or do you need the browser source url i add for streamlabs
we have it, marc will look into it when he has some free time, if its not figured out by your stream time ill pop into your stream and look into it more
ok cool the error message scared me lmao no worries take your time i know you guys are busy and i appreciate all your help
yea, we send you the message so you know we have it and delete the link for safety
@shinobi_okami420 I'm taking a look at your overlay now ...
For your "lurk" and "bake" layers, you should not have the chat toggle command the same as the Twitch chat command because the commands will conflict and toggle the layer on/off when it should be showing the event.
Some of your alert layers also have chat toggles configured. For example, your sub alert layer can be toggled on/off by anyone.
If you want to be able to toggle layers on/off by chat commands, I would set those to moderator or broadcaster so only you can toggle those layers.
You created a really cool overlay and I love all the functionality. Let me know if this helps.
thank you so the sub alert should be auto toggled by the sub and if im understanding right in the visibility drop down i should not have anything selected under chat command and the alerts area is all i need for my auto toggle layers for subs bitties ect things that get triggered by those events but as for the bake and lurk im stll a bit confused i think are you saying i need to change the chat toggle message because that and the message pattern are the same thats its messing it up and if so what should i do so i can type !bake in my chat and have this pop off again thank you guys for all your help
Yes when you choose an alert for a layer, the layer will show and hide automatically when that event occurs (no need for chat toggles)
I think for your use case, you only want alerts like Twitch chat and sub, etc and I would remove the chat toggles
Chat toggles are for switching layers completely on or completely off. For example, switching your brb layer on and off
For your Twitch chat alert layers, you can set the slow-mode to 10000 ms (10 seconds) so your viewers don't spam the command 😅
But for other alert layers like follow and sub, you don't want slow-mode because you want each of those alerts to show
Does that help?
sooooo much so basically ive been canceling my self out
thank you guys for all your help ive changed those setting and taken chat toggles off lol so ill see if that works tonight
Awesome! Yeah it can be a bit confusing for sure. Let us know how it goes 🙏
so sofar still not working but ill keep trying threw the night
Are you going live tonight again?
yes i will be same time 6pm pst
im also gonna go threw them all again and make sure all the chat command stuff under visibility is blank
also since touching things lol a new issue has popped up now my lurk gif is always up ive had to re add the off toggle to make it go away and every scene i have to re toggle it off
Taking a look now
Do you remove your lurk gif layer?
I still see a few layers with the same Twitch Chat message and Chat toggle message
yeah i had to to make it stop randomly popping i know i have done my holiday layers yet because i want to make sure the layers that are more important to everyday stream like the !cheers and !bake are working before i change everythng
Ah OK makes sense
the layers i use daily are the !cheers, !bake, brb, anticipation, win and donuts these are the one that should pop up when i type in my chat the command associated
And those are working OK?
no they arent they only time they work is when i have the builder open but does not work in streamlabs
If you go to your stream URL in your browser and then type in chat, does it work?
like my twitch manager or like if i have my actual stream open which i have tryed but not since touching things so i can try that tonight
Sorry the stream URL for your Overlay Expert overlay
The one you put in the browser source
Can you try opening that in Chrome in one window, and then open your chat in another window, and see if the commands work?
omg it worked on both
the url and on streamlabs
Hmm
I wonder if the overlay is losing the connection to Twitch for some reason
Are you going live tonight?
yes here shortly i also noticed its only working for the bake command in slobs but nothing else im actually about to go live in like 15 20
Which commands did not work?
so far the cheers the brb the dp the anticipation and donuts is all ive tryed non of those work
and only the bake works when the url is open and showing
Is !bake the first one you tried?
The donuts one is funny 😆
ok so up date to commands that work the hype works
Hey @shinobi_okami420, hope all is well.
I tested your overlay in Chrome and and everything is working as expected so I'm not sure what is going on exactly.
I know you use SLOBS, but a lot of streamers perfer OBS instead. Can you try OBS? You don't have to go live with it ... just add your overlay to a browser source, open up your Twitch chat and test your commands.
thank you i will give that a try and see if its a slobs thing which ive had a few ppl tell me i need to switch lol
OK cool keep us updated
ok so idk if you got the last message incase you didnt heres what it said lol tryed on obs and not only is everything working but also the minor ones as well and all popping right on time no glitches and now im starting to see why everyone has been hating on slobs lol sooo ill be switching to that lol thank you guys for all of your help you guys are amazing
Yes we got your message in the logs, slobs is alot more of a resource hog then obs is aswell
Amazing! Great to hear!
SLOBS is 💩
ok im kinda having the issue now where my cheers command is staying up from start of stream unprompted and now none of the commands are working again but it did all work for a few days lol
my temp solution is to just add the off switch
@shinobi_okami420 is that one a chat toggle or Twitch chat alert?
its a chat toggle !cheers by me only
Do you have it set to be hidden for visibility if not it will show until its activated by your command
under alerts tab for the layer i have it set to event based and that event is twitch chat under the visibility tab i have nothing selected for chat source and extension viewer type is anyone normally.... when this happens under visibility i have to add the twitch source and off and on command whats suposed to happen is when the command pops in chat its supposed to pop up the layer for 10 secs and go away
i tryed dropping it into chrome and it worked fine audio and all timing well and i am now permanently using obs lol
What browser do you normally use
whats suposed to happen is when the command pops in chat its supposed to pop up the layer for 10 secs and go away@shinobi_okami420 for this you shouldn't be using chat toggles and should have none selected under Visibility > Chat source
so yes normally i have it set now to none since you explained that part lol but now the layer wont go away unless i add a off command how i did have it set up was only in alerts /event based/ (event) twitch chat/ (chat messages from)broadcaster/ (message pattern regex*) !cheers are the only ones i have selected
also upon refreshing the source in obs is when this started and everything else not popping the cheers layer will just stay up i have it set to normal now (from the last time it got fixed lol ) but i will have to hide that layer once stream starts and if you guys want to drop in some time i can show you live no rush on it though i tots understand you guys are super busy but i can refresh the source live and show you guys what i mean
@shinobi_okami420 when next will you be live?
Tonight 6pm pst to about 12 am pst
OK I will try to stop by
You're still using the same overlay that you shared earlier, right?
Yes the same overlay
