As far as im aware they have not been muted or deafened the whole time, and there were 2 or more people in these channels so they should have quallified for some XP
Issue appears to be that the use had never typed once in the server (had zero XP before entering VC's) now that they have typed to raise the issue of not getting XP and earned some text XP they are now getting voice XP...

Just to clarify, this stopped happening after they sent a message, correct?
Yeah they did /rank had zero xp, and then typed about their issue which gave them XP. They left their VC they joined prior and got no xp, but rejoined VC after getting some text xp and then started getting voice xp as normal.
We had never encountered this before, but I guess it's quite uncommon for a user to have avoided typing anything before entering VC

It's certainly an interesting problem
Just a theory with the needing to have earned text XP before getting voice - but that's the only thing that changed.
If you need any more data just let me know
I'll mess with it myself, should that be the case (and hoping I can recreate it), that narrows it down a lot

Hey @Jaqqour, is this behaviour still happening? Apologies for the delay in getting back to you.
Have not had anymore straight into VC users without typing (they are uncommon) if I notice another one will let you know. We just added to our welcome steps that users should type one message to log themselves in the system if they want xp as a bandaid
I'll keep an eye out and let you know
