Install location of Windows programs in BazziteOS
So i'm trying to install a few window programs in Bazzite via the [-right click- Open with] Wine Windows Program Loader. The program installed successfully, now i need to find the installed files. How do i do that? where are they located?

check
~/.wine
but the more correct answer would be dependent on the actual app doing the loading
whether it's winezgui or system wine (which is not provided by default) or something elsethere is no directory like that...i searched everywhere
tried even the steamapp folders too
~/
means your user's home folder
you should show hidden folders to be able to see it, if it existsyeah...there is no folder by that name there

the program installs without any issue
did you install Wine via flatpak or anything else?
when i try to reinstall, it says the directory already exists...that means it has installed
it was already preinstalled
it was already preinstalled
that sounds like winezgui perhaps, but I cannot be sure as I don't have my device on hand. when you open the setup.exe right now, what shows up other than the actual installer itself?
these are the only windows that open:

and this is all thats listed in the system monitor:

Check ~/.local/share ? I know bottles shoves things there at least.
can you run
xdg-mime query default application/x-ms-dos-executable
and when i check the Discover App for installed programs ... this shows up:

yeah the idea is to figure out the handler, then we can go to that associated folder
it returns this:
com.github.Matoking.protontricks-launch.desktop
checked there too...and in var as well
that's not the one we're looking for. can you check File Associations for anything relating to .exes?
in KDE settings
I suspect it's that flatpak
Wine
but I'd like to make sure before we deep divei have used Ubuntu and i didn't get the chance to run Windows apps on it...fairly new to Bazzite...how do i do that?
open KDE settings, find the File Associations tab
if it's in fact the Wine flatpak, it could possibly found in
~/.var/app/org.winehq.Wine/data/wine/
I'm in file associations...what do i look for there?

search for exe at the top
or application. anything that can move toward finding an
.exe
's file handlerok

can you click on the Wine Windows Program Loader, then edit and provide that here?
it should pop up with properties about a shortcut file

right
Check here
whew...thanks! found the folders
i have another question, how do i execute these files? just run the .exe?
also, if i have to uninstall the programs, how do i do that?
A shortcut may have been added. I would suggest actually deleting that prefix and reprioritizing WineZGUI as the primary handler. It provides a bit better controls for this
how do i do that?
File associations and move winezgui up using the buttons on the right
ok..done..after that?
run your setup again but this time with winezgui
ok...how to uninstall whats already been installed?
you could just delete the entire prefix folder
this whole folder? : org.winehq.Wine
no, just the one that contains
drive_c
