Photonics Mod (BSL with high fps Ray Tracing) Clouds issue
I have an issue that requires me to ask two questions just in case the first one does not have an answer:
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
1. How can I lower the height of DH clouds? Photonics is able to reflect them, so I do not need the vanilla clouds.
If there is no way to lower their height, then I'd have to disable them, but then there is an issue now:
2. Not sure if this is more so a question to ask here or for the Photonics mod, but when I choose to use the vanilla clouds, they do not render past the vanilla render distance and both vanilla clouds and DH clouds are rendering when I have them all enabled instead of the DH clouds getting replaced. How can I have the vanilla clouds render past the vanilla render distance or replace the DH clouds when using Photonics?
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
So, it boils down to: If I can use the vanilla clouds with Photonics instead of the DH clouds, ok, but I need to know how to get them to render past the vanilla render distance. If I cannot use them, then I can just use the DH ones, but I need to know how to lower them down to the vanilla cloud height.
Not sure if I need to put any images as the description is pretty straight-forward.
Just in case and to at least give something to work with:
MC 1.21.4
Photonics 2.8.0
Iris 1.8.8
Sodium 0.6.13
DH 2.3.2-b
BSL 8.2.09

1. Pretty sure you can't adjust the cloud height last I checked, unless that is now an option under advance graphics settings in DH.
2. Vanilla clouds are limited to the vanilla render distance (will change in 1.21.6 if I recall where it will extend beyond that), and both vanilla clouds and DH clouds are rendered separately. You will have to disable one over the other to avoid overlapping. DH cloud can be toggled in DH settings....

I see. Well, hopefully a cloud height slider gets added in the future.
Thanks! I also made a quick search and was able to extend them past the vanilla render distance with Sodium Extra, but not enough to reach where DH reaches since it is just up to 300% and 3x 12 chunks is nowhere near close to 256 (and the way the clouds render is different, as in, they still appear in front of DH LOD terrain).
I think now my follow-up question, which, once again, idk if to ask here or the Photonics mod page, is why the DH clouds are able to be reflected, but not the vanilla clouds. .-.
To reflect one over the other requires explicit handling of said element.
And base BSL do reflect vanilla clouds so...
Maybe ask the Photonic folks about that.
WHAT.
That makes me even more confused. Maybe it's that specific version of BSL? And since Photonics uses that version, it doesn't or something. Either way, thank you for the answer. Imma go ask the answer over there.
